Association of Anthropometric Indices of Obesity with Hypertension in Chinese Elderly: An Analysis of Age and Gender Differences

ABSTRACT
This study aims to explore the association of anthropometric indices obesity with hypertension in Chinese elderly and its possible gender age differences. A total 7070 adults 60 or older were interviewed a cross-sectional conducted 2017. Anthropometric for each participant measured by using standard methods trained doctoral/master students. We performed two binary logistic regression models examine nine different gender. Lastly, analyses steps stratified age. Comparing individuals without hypertension, there statistically significant differences except height, body shape index (ABSI), hip (HI) males; height females. There relationship between prevalence adults. After stratification age, associations all became weaker, disappeared, even went opposite direction. Furthermore, mass (BMI) men (except than 80) circumference (HC) women showed impact on risk hypertension.
