ABSTRACT
Communicating bad news (CBN) is a fundamental skill in nursing; nevertheless, few instruments exist for its evaluation. This study presents questionnaire designed to measure nurses' knowledge and ability of CBN, as well the analysis psychometric properties. Based on literature search, initial dimensions CBN were identified construct questionnaires' items, which evaluated by experts validity items' contents. Construct reliability resulting was carried out sample 71 nurses an Andalusian university hospital. A with 25 items constructed high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha 0.816). The content via review additionally assessment seven experts. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test (KMO) obtained score 0.683, Bartlett sphericity value p < 0.001. principal component supported four dimensions. found be valid reliable instrument evaluation skills nursing professionals.
