ABSTRACT
The sleep-wake cycle plays a fundamental role in maintaining the physiological balance of our body. Its alteration favours genesis several organic alterations and diseases including sleep disorders consumption substances abuse. It has been reported that work activity, especially carried out during night, is able to influence cycle, promoting development insomnia, which, turn, would subject worker stressful condition such as encourage adverse behaviour use/abuse psychotropic substances. Based on above premises, aim research was evaluate, night workers: (i) pattern alcoholic beverages; (ii) presence insomnia; (iii) possible correlation between alcohol insomnia disorder. We used AUDIT-C test (the abbreviated version Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test) Insomnia Severity Index assess disorder, respectively. All questionnaires were completed by workers both sexes belonging different types activities, exclusively day or night. results show higher propensity consume beverages than those who daytime hours, often binge-drinking mode.
