Physical Activity among Italian Adolescents: Association with Life Satisfaction, Self-Rated Health and Peer Relationships

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to describe physical activity, both moderate-to-vigorous activity (MVPA) and vigorous (VPA), in a large nationally representative sample Italian adolescents, aged 11, 13 15, evaluate if adolescents were line with the 2020 WHO recommendations. In order assess possible impact on adolescent psychological social wellbeing, associations between MVPA VPA life satisfaction, self-rated health peer relationships also explored. Data from 2018 Health Behaviour School-aged Children (HBSC) survey 58,976 analysed. Logistic regression analysis used investigate association health, satisfaction relationships. Family Affluence Scale studied. results showed that majority did not meet current guidelines MPVA. prevalence claiming be involved “at least four or more times per week” 29%. Overall, our findings highlighted positive support. underlined need encourage especially among older girls, who claimed lower levels MPVA VPA.
