ABSTRACT
Emotional availability (EA) is a complex construct describing the emotional bond between parents and child, it refers to support, sensitivity, warmth closeness. Few studies have investigated perception of parental EA its association with dysfunctional eating pattern. The aim study explore mothers’ fathers’ adolescents anorexia nervosa (AN) any differences two subtypes binge–purge (B/P) or restrictive (R) AN. Furthermore, investigates AN symptomatology patients’ family functioning, which identified as maintenance factor for A total 60 12 18 years their (n = 120) were recruited in disorder (ED) specialized care centers. Patients completed LEAP FACES IV questionnaires evaluating respectively. Results showed no difference subtypes, but greater mother when compared father was found. Moreover, found not be associated ED positive functioning. Our first that explores AN, results suggest importance considering parents’ engagement part treatment core, together management.
