ABSTRACT
Background: Adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) are critical to maintaining good health hygiene. However, is a function of many determinants, WASH services alone may not be sufficient improve outcomes. Objective: To identify whether the presence WaSH associated with fewer children under five years age experiencing symptoms diarrhea in Katoma, Geita, Tanzania. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted collect data, demographics, other variables, such as WASH, food insecurity, education mother, vaccination household income for 452 households five. Surveys were completed in-person through interviews. Health outcome data included being sick or symptoms. Data analysis performed using SAS OnDemand Academics. Multivariate logistic regression mixed-effects models employed determine association between covariates sickness inclusion all involved study, respectively. Results: The findings suggest that do have significant impact on diarrhea, but determinants health, including showed outcomes among at least one service. These demographic variables also lower insecurity poverty. highlight need (1) include when analyzing understand outcomes; (2) attainment women maximize benefits their children.
