ABSTRACT
Presently, water contamination issues are of great concern worldwide. Mexico has not escaped this environmental problem, which negatively affects aquifers, bodies and biodiversity; but most all, public health. The objective was to determine the level in six tributaries Conchos River relate their levels human health risks. Bimonthly samples were obtained from each location during 2005 2006. Physical-chemical variables (temperature, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), Total solids total nitrogen) as well heavy metals (As, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, V, Zn, Li) determined. statistical analysis considered yearly, monthly, effects, interactions. Temperatures differed only a function sampling month (P < 0.001) pH different for years = 0.006), months interaction x 0.018). EC 0.001), did change nitrogen 0.001). As concentration 0.008) highest detected February with 0.11 mg L(-1). Cr noting value 0.25 Va Zn years, months, interaction. Cu 2.50 L(-1); it 16.36 Mn 1.66 V 0.55 0.53 For there differences 0.030), locations 0.050), Ni being 0.47 Li same This information can help prevent potential risks communities established along river watershed who use natural resource swimming fishing. Some contaminant concentrations found varied year year, necessitated continued monitoring process under conditions toxic elements surpass existing norms waters.
