ABSTRACT
CuO/ZnO composites are synthesized using a simple mechanochemical combustion method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDX), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) used to characterize the prepared oxides. reveals that exhibit wurtzite ZnO crystal structure composed of CuO ZnO. The strong peaks Cu, Zn, O elements exhibited in EDX spectrum. FTIR spectra appear at around 3385 cm−1 1637 cm−1, caused by O–H stretching, 400 590 ascribable Zn–O stretching. photocatalytic performances nanocomposites investigated for degradation methylene blue (MB) aqueous solution direct solar irradiation. value MB with 5 wt % is measured be 98%, after 2 h reactive •O2− •OH radicals play important roles photodegradation MB. Mineralization 91% under sunlight irradiation within 7 h. treatment textile wastewater an easy technique—simply handled, economical. Therefore, technique may very effective method instead artificial expensive Hg-Xe lamp.
