ABSTRACT
This study investigated the relationship between executive functions and metacognition. Both constructs have been well-studied, but little research has focused on their connections. The goal of current investigation was to increase understanding metacognition by assessing relationships metacognitive monitoring accuracy three component (updating, inhibition, shifting) among college students. Metacognitive measured using a knowledge (KMA) test. components functions, updating, shifting were measured, respectively, ABCD updating task, Stroop color-word interference test, letter-number task. Tower Hanoi task used measure complex (inhibition updating). Correlation regression analyses performed examine relationships. results indicate that is only function significantly correlated with monitoring, suggesting metacognition-specifically, monitoring-is associated at least one functioning.
