ABSTRACT
Lightweight magnesium alloys and matrix composites have recently become more widespread for high-efficiency applications, including automobile, aerospace, defense, electronic industries. Cast are applied in many highly moving rotating parts, these parts can suffer from fatigue loading consequently subjected to failure. Reversed tensile-compression low-cycle (LCF) high-cycle (HCF) of short fibers reinforced unreinforced AE42 been studied at temperatures 20 °C, 150 250 °C. To select suitable testing conditions, tensile tests carried out on the composite material AE42-C up 300 The Wohler curves σa (NF) shown that strength HCF range was double AE42. In LCF certain strain amplitudes, life materials is much less than alloys, this due low ductility material. Furthermore, a slight temperature influence °C has established behavior AE42-C. Δεtotal were described using Basquin Manson-Coffin approaches. Fracture surface investigations showed mixed mode serration pattern carbon fracturing debonding alloy.
