ABSTRACT
Carbon xerogel-zinc oxide (CXZnO) composites were synthesized by a simple method of sol-gel condensation polymerization formaldehyde and resorcinol solution containing zinc salt followed drying thermal treatment. ZnO nanoparticles observed to be evenly dispersed on the surfaces carbon xerogel microspheres. The as-prepared CXZnO mixed with laccase (Lac) Nafion obtain mixture solution, which was further modified an electrode surface construct novel biosensing platform. Finally, prepared electrochemical biosensor employed detect environmental pollutant, catechol. analysis result satisfactory, sensor showed excellent electrocatalysis towards catechol high sensitivity (31.2 µA·mM−1), low detection limit (2.17 µM), wide linear range (6.91–453 µM). Moreover, also displayed favorable repeatability, reproducibility, selectivity, stability besides being successfully used in trace existing lake water environments.
