ABSTRACT
The common potato, Solanum tuberosum L., is the fourth most important agricultural crop worldwide. Until recently, vegetative propagation by tubers has been main method of potato cultivation. A shift interest to sexual reproduction true botanical seeds due appearance a new hybrid seed breeding strategy whose successful application for many species supported male sterility. This investigation was focused on study differences in metabolite profiles anthers at mature pollen stage from male-fertile and male-sterile genotypes S. tuberosum. Application gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry allowed detection metabolic 192 compounds. Further data analysis several libraries fully identified 75 metabolites; similar amount defined up classes.
