ABSTRACT
Free electron laser (FEL) is capable of producing ultra-short X-ray pulses. The estimation pulse propagation the key process FEL beamline design. By using Kostenbauder matrix approach, evolution an in a system can be calculated. Therefore, it significant importance to investigate matrices different kinds optics. In this work, we derive unified 6 × optical describe various elements, including varied-line-spacing (VLS) toroidal grating, VLS spherical cylindrical plane mirror, and mirror. These optics are usually adopted soft regime. We apply method transverse focusing, front tilt, stretching after going through grating monochromator (VLS-PGM). also use approach simulate compressor which used compress chirped pulse. This work helpful design optimization systems.
