ABSTRACT
Tunable laser sources with a wide wavelength tuning range, mode-hop-free (MHF) operation, and high spectral purity are essential for applications such as high-resolution spectroscopy, coherent detection, intelligent fiber sensing. In this paper, we present wide-range tunable source that operates without mode hopping, based on external cavity feedback using semiconductor gain chip the medium. The wavelength, power, characteristics of experimentally measured. A MHF continuous range from 1480 nm to 1620 side-mode suppression ratio more than 61.65 dB is achieved. An output optical power 11.14 dBm good stability can also be realized in full C+L band. This proposed external-cavity features narrow intrinsic linewidth radiation maximum sweep speed 200 nm/s, enabling practical vector spectrum analysis.
