ABSTRACT
Multitude applications of photonic devices and technologies for the generation manipulation arbitrary random microwave waveforms, at unprecedented processing speeds, have been proposed in literature over past three decades. This class engineering is known as photonics (MWP). The vast capabilities MWP allowed realization key functionalities which are either highly complex or simply not possible domain alone. Recently, this growing field has adopted integrated to develop systems with enhanced robustness well a significant reduction size, cost, weight, power consumption. In particular, silicon technology great interest aim it offers outstanding possibilities integration highly-complex active passive devices, permitting monolithic high-speed electronics. article, we present review recent work on functions developed platform. We particularly focus newly reported designs signal modulation, waveform generation, filtering, true-time delay, phase shifting, beam steering, frequency measurement.
