ABSTRACT
The stress-strain behavior of concrete can be improved by providing a lateral passive confining pressure, such as fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) wrapping. Many axial models have been proposed for FRP-confined columns. However, few predict the confined columns with more than two specified cross-sections. A model cross-sectional unification was developed in this paper based on database from existing literature that includes circular, square, rectangular and elliptical are highly FRP jackets. Using database, theoretical were evaluated. In addition, ultimate stress strain using parameters: aspect ratio corner radius ratio. cross-section considered one special calculations. simple accurate equivalent proposed. Compared to other experimental data, show good performance.
