ABSTRACT
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is commonly the material of choice for covered anaerobic lagoons (CAL) at wastewater treatment plants. The membrane floats on wastewater, and hence called a “floating cover”, used odour control to harvest methane-rich biogas as renewable resource generate electricity. floating cover an expensive high-value asset that demands efficient methodology determination set engineering quantities structural integrity assessment. Given dynamics activities under cover, state deformation measurand useful its health A non-contact measurement strategy preferred it offers practical safety-related benefits over other methods. In collaboration with Melbourne Water Corporation (MWC), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assisted photogrammetry approach was developed address this need. Following definition appropriate flight parameters required quantify series periodic flights were operated very large covers MWC’s Western Treatment Plant (WTP) Werribee, Victoria, Australia. This paper aims demonstrate effectiveness practicality inspection technique determine measured ten-month period.
