ABSTRACT
Background: Alpinia officinarum Hance is both an herbal medicine and a condiment, generally has different cultivars such as Zhutou galangal Fengwo galangal. The appearance of these A. similar, but their chemical composition quality are different. It therefore important to discriminate between plants ensure the consistency efficacy medicine. Therefore, we used electronic nose (E-nose) explore differences in odor information two for fast robust discrimination. Methods: Odor volatile components all samples were detected by E-nose gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), respectively. sensors GC-MS data analyzed respectively principal component analysis (PCA), correlation partial least squares (PLS). Results: was found that can be discriminated combining with PCA, S2, S6, S7, S9 distinguishing officinarum. A total 56 identified analysis, content from different, particular relative contents 1,8-cineole α-farnesene. classification result PCA based on consistent results. PLS demonstrated terpene, alcohol ester primarily interacted S2 indicating highly correlated some aroma constituents. Conclusions: Combined advanced chemometrics, detection technology officinarum, providing support determine material basis sensors’ response.
