ABSTRACT
Due to unique physico-chemical properties of –SH moiety thiols comprise widegroup biologically important compounds. A review devoted biological functions ofglutathione and phytochelatins with literature survey methods used analysis thesecompounds their interactions cadmium(II) ions Murashige-Skoog medium ispresented. For these purposes electrochemical techniques are used. Moreover, we revealedthe effect three different cadmium concentrations (0, 10 100 μM) on cadmiumuptake content in maize plants during 192 hours long experiments usingdifferential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry detect highperformance liquid chromatography detection determineglutathione. Cadmium concentration determined tissues the cultivated innutrient solution containing μM Cd was very low up 96 exposition andthen markedly increased. On contrary, addition μMCd caused an immediate sharp increase all plant parts expositionbut subsequently increased more slowly. high performance liquidchromatography for glutathione determination intreated after treatment. The highest total per one 6 μg (96 h, Cd) comparison non-treated (control) where 1.5 μg. It can be concluded that have proved useful analyse thiols.
