ABSTRACT
Documentation and conservation of underwater cultural heritage (UCH) are crucial to preserving humankind’s history traditions, safeguarding tangible testimonies past human life while ensuring its accessibility future generations. The TECTONIC (Technological Consortium TO develop sustainability Cultural Heritage) project is promoting an intersectoral collaboration between academic non-academic professionals (i.e., archaeologists, conservators, geologists, engineers, etc.) working on different topics related UCHs, find solutions the issues still existing in field. overall aim exchange skills for improvement assessment innovative materials techniques marketable products management UCH, sustainably. To achieve aim, undertaking activities driven by following objectives: (a) study, documentation, mapping selected UCHs; (b) creation decision-support tools UCH risk a changing environment; (c) initiation studies protocols activities; (d) development open low-cost robotic inspection UCH; (e) raising public awareness knowledge about UCH. All objectives devoted stimulating new sustainable ideas that would bring growth tourism capitalizing research results.
