ABSTRACT
The paper analyzes the impacts of mining activities on sustainable land management in areas Republic Serbia and Romania discusses main challenges related to these issues legislation practice. Particular attention is paid disturbance, mine waste reclamation, as well access for purposes, transfer royalties partnerships industry, governments, communities civil society mining. Both governments are willing provide adequate role strengthening national economies, but they face numerous constraints this matter. Sustainable practices consistent implementation closure planning approach, within an improved legislative framework cooperation with stakeholders at all levels, create conditions development creative, profitable, environmentally-sound socially-responsible reuse lands.
