ABSTRACT
While the characteristics and origin of drusy calcite cement in carbonate deposits is well constrained literature, little attention paid to dolomite cement. Petrographic observations, stable isotopes, fluid-inclusion microthermometry suggest that Permo-Triassic conglomerate/breccia dolostone beds northern United Arab Emirates has precipitated as not by dolomitization The low δ18OVPDB (−9.4‰ −6.2‰) high homogenization temperatures fluid inclusions (Th = 73–233 °C) was caused hot basinal brines (salinity 23.4 wt% NaCl eq.). δ13CVPDB values (+0.18‰ +1.6‰) 87Sr/86Sr ratio (0.708106 0.708147) indicate carbon strontium were derived from host marine carbonates. Following this event, blocky 148 °C; salinity 20.8 eq.) brines.
