ABSTRACT
In 2009, the excavation of a Roman shaft in northeast town Béziers (34) resulted an underground tunnel dug Miocene molasses. The whole reception perched water table and harvested percolation fine droplets contained sandstone aquifer. 2011, two new shafts were excavated few hundred meters further north. Again, archaeological work shows similar pattern operation. These millennia-hydraulic systems are grouped under generic term «qanat » .
