ABSTRACT
Objectives: Due to the important influence of glycemic control on oral health, this study aimed compare gingival index and decayed, missing, filled teeth (DMFT) in participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus receiving insulin metformin. Materials Methods: In cross-sectional study, 130 treated metformin were studied two groups based treatment. The information for DMFT indices obtained using examination. group, received Lantus 0.2 unit/kg once daily, tablets 500 mg every 12 hours. Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) was measured by lab test all participants. Finally, HbA1c, DMFT, compared between groups. Results: results showed that there no statistically significant differences missed, restored teeth, as well overall significantly higher group (P=0.046).
