ABSTRACT
Background: Blended electrospun nanofibrous mats containing black pomegranate peel extract (BPPE) were prepared using different proportions of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polycaprolactone as the filament-forming polymers. Methods: The electrospinning process was conducted by simultaneously injecting PVP spinning solutions from two opposite sides on a rotary collector. films characterized in morphology, mechanical features, water vapor transmission rate, swelling properties, drug release profile. Results: uniform white porous achieved optimized method. As concentration formula increased, average diameter fibers spindle bodies appeared. Though, moisture content is one most essential issues with wound dressing to promote healing process, excessive absorption produced highly erodible weak tensile strength elongation. higher created narrower more improved features properties blended mats. Furthermore, membrane composed 70:30 polycaprolactone/PVP weight ratio resulted sustained release. Conclusion: favorable mentioned above, along effect BPPE, make it an attractive candidate for application products.
