ABSTRACT
Sjögren’s syndrome is a chronic inflammatory disorder mostly involving the exocrine glands. Extraglandular disease may occur in up to one quarter of patients. Kidney involvement rare, more often manifested by tubular dysfunction secondary tubulointerstitial nephritis. Primary glomerular uncommon. The authors present case 73-year-old woman with xerostomia and positivity for anti-Ro anti-La antibodies admitted acute kidney injury exudative pleural effusion. Biopsy salivary glands was compatible syndrome. also confirmed renal deposition AA-amyloid. patient started on prednisolone followed azathioprine rapid improvement lung disease. However, due progressing clinical deterioration, prognosis guarded died. We describe amyloidosis systemic infrequent manifestations, briefly reviewing key aspects AA-amyloidosis.
