What do nurses think about telenursing? A descriptive Italian study

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Telenursing is a new nursing approach to improve continuity, quality and safety of care patient outcomes. This study aims describe the viewpoint Italian nurses on their knowledge, attitudes, barriers telenursing.Materials methods: descriptive following STROBE guidelines was conducted in August 2022 through web survey. A non-validated questionnaire convenience snowball sampling were used. Descriptive statistical analysis performed.Results: 323 included study. 75% female, prevalently employed hospitals (81%). Digital devices present 76% healthcare facilities, but 82% sample had never carried out telenursing interventions. The academic training does not include education, 93% would be interested topic, considering previous knowledge insufficient (54%). Surveyed believe could communication team, (70%), (45%). In nurses' opinion, patients' main low digital literacy, use complexity lack resources. addition sharing same as patients, need more skilled exclusively assigned staff better interconnection between resources used.Conclusion: nurses’ should team communication. described by (lack resources, integration, tools used) suggest for multi-level interventions studies increase its patients.
