ABSTRACT
The objective of this review was to present the main difficulties encountered in cryopreservation semen, with oxidative stress being most impacting them, and demonstrate antioxidant potential Vitamins C E, as well its use cryopreserved semen dilution media. Semen is a technology great impact national livestock industry has been increasingly emphasized due advances animal breeding biotechnologies, artificial insemination, an important tool for genetic improvement several species which many advantages application, such ease commercialization transportation, control sexually transmitted diseases, mainly, expressive gain. Different media additives are used seeking confer greater cryoresistance spermatozoa during freeze / thaw cycle. However, despite numerous research field, approximately 50% sperm cells become unviable after process. Despite made since discovery glycerol, studies on cryoprotectants other antioxidants, order improve viability, aiming increase yield ejaculated doses pregnancy rates importance. As antioxidants seminal freezing media, stand out non-enzymatic antioxidants. These vitamins substances low molecular weight, act possible removers agents that cause damage, or repairers already initiated lesion, have aid viability thawing.
