ABSTRACT
Background: The poor sanitation and small numbers of households who own toilet in Sekotong regency may relate to the diarrheal events due fecal coliform contamination drinking water.Aim: This paper aims provide concentrations bacteria shallow well waters factors associated its growth.Method: Fifteen groundwater samples were collected from 5 wells total (FC), mercury concentration, inorganic nitrogen compounds (represent as ammonia, nitrate, nitrite), phosphorus (TP), dissolved oxygen (D), pH, salinity. concentration parameters was then compared safe limit set by World Health Organization (WHO).Results: results indicated that water resources at contaminated mercury. One location with low recorded E. coli contamination. Residence, agriculture, animal livestock subjected sources Mercury inverse growth FC. No apparent relationship found between phosphorous FC growth. However, we recognized responded positively level waters, but negatively nitrate concentration. An correlation also survival salinity this study. pH range 6.05 – 6.50 supported survival. Conclusion: It is important for local government inform protection treatment.
