ABSTRACT
The article examines the role of control as one of the key management functions in trade organizations in the context of modern society. The emphasis is placed on the need for effective control systems for making operational and strategic decisions. Despite the presence of control systems in each organization, in Russia there is an initial stage of the formation of full-fledged internal control mechanisms. In the context of the growing complexity of organizational structures, higher control standards are required, which helps to minimize risks and optimize resource management. Thus, effective internal control becomes the basis for the sustainable development of companies in a dynamically changing external environment.
