ABSTRACT
Premise of the study: Tithonia diversifolia (Asteraceae) is an invasive plant species that can outcompete natives and thus poses a great threat to biodiversity in introduced areas. Here, expressed sequence tag–simple repeat (EST‐SSR) markers were developed characterized. Methods Results: Sixteen polymorphic microsatellite loci isolated from T. using transcriptome sequencing bioinformatic screening. The number alleles per locus varied two four 48 individuals three populations. Most these primers also amplified rotundifolia some even Parthenium hysterophorus . Conclusions: These are useful for investigating genetic structure evolutionary process , which may provide important information better management.
