Preoperative anemia is a common finding among geriatric patients with trochanteric fractures. We assessed the dynamics of hemoglobin and factors that influence it. A total 780 fractures were selected. Distribution by gender showed slightly higher proportion female (64.1%). The preoperative interval ranged from few hours to 19 days.
