ABSTRACT
Oxidative stress is a key cause of gastrointestinal disorders, primarily stomach ulcers. Multiple intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms caused the body to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS). The body's antioxidant defense system protects against these species. When degree ROS production exceeds normal range, natural fails neutralize dangerous free radicals, necessitating need foran exogenous source antioxidants. Natural herbal remedies have been widely employed as antioxidants relieve oxidative in gastric Polyphenols, tannins, essential oils, flavonoids, notably quercetin, carotenoids, vitamin C, A, minerals are among molecules immense interest bioassays due their significant effects. In present review, several anti-ulcer medicinal plants along with antioxidative mechanism reported. Electronic databases including PubMed, Google Scholar Scopus were explored identify gastroprotective potential all plants.
