ABSTRACT
Introduction: Antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) are associated with the occurrence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). The Medicines Control Authority Zimbabwe requires that all ADRs be reported within 15 days detection. In 2020, only 24% ARV in Mazowe District were reported. We evaluated performance ADR surveillance system District. Methods: conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study using updated United States Centre for Disease guidelines. recruited doctors and nurses managing HIV health facilities district reviewed completed forms. Data on reasons underreporting, knowledge, usefulness, attributes obtained pre-tested interviewer-administered questionnaires checklists. univariate analysis to generate frequencies proportions. Results: Of 81 workers, 61 (75.3%) female. Forty-three (53.1%) respondents had poor knowledge system. Two (2.5%) trained surveillance. Only eight reporting forms 25 cases noted facility records. No records meetings discuss data. Reasons underreporting perceiving as minor (58.0%) having high workload (55.6%). Conclusion: There was no evidence data utilisation meetings. workers lacked training not knowledgeable about recommended worker inclusion discussions healthcare institutions’
