ABSTRACT
AIM:To investigate the effect of pain relief after infusion ropivacaine at port sites end surgery. METHODS:From October 2006 to September 2007, 72 patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) were randomized into two groups 36 patients. One group received LC and other normal saline.A visual analog scale was used assess postoperative when patient awakened in operating room, 6 24 h surgery, before discharge. The amount analgesics use also recorded. The demographics, laboratory data, hospital stay, perioperative complications compared between groups. RESULTS:There no difference preoperatively terms demographic data. After similar operation time, blood loss, morbidity mortality observed groups. However, a significantly lower score undergo-ing with local anesthesia 1 discharge.Regarding analgesic use, meperidine total during admission infusion. This had shorter stay. CONCLUSION:Local site decreased immediately. This explains earlier discharge for these patients.
