ABSTRACT
To compare results of liver stiffness measurements by transient elastography (TE) obtained in our patients population with that used a recently published meta-analysis.This was single center cross-sectional study. Consecutive chronic viral hepatitis scheduled for biopsy at the outpatient ward Infectious Diseases Department were enrolled. TE carried out using FibroScan™ (Echosens, Paris, France). Liver performed on same day as TE, case procedure. Fibrosis staged according to Metavir scoring system. The diagnostic performance assessed receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and area under ROC curve analysis. Two hundred fifty-two met inclusion criteria. Six (2%) excluded due unreliable measurements. Thus, 246 (171 men 75 women) analyzed. One ninety-five (79.3%) had C, 41 (16.7%) B, 10 (4.0%) coinfected human immunodeficiency virus. analysis identified optimal cut-off value high 6.9 kPa F ≥ 2; 7.9 3; 9.6 = 4 all (n 246), 7.3 9.3 C 195). Cut-off values maximizing only specificity 12.2 7.0 12.3 195).The this study are comparable meta-analysis included up 40 studies.
