ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the effect of lappaconitine on renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in mice. Methods Thirty-six male Wistar rats, weighing 180-220 g, were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=12 each) using a random number table: sham operation group (group S), I/R and LA). Renal was induced by occlusion left pedicle for 45 min with atraumatic microclips followed reperfusion, right kidney removed after released. At 30 before 4 mg/kg injected intraperitoneally LA, normal saline 2 ml given S groups. In S, only isolated. At 5 24 h blood samples taken from inferior vena cava determination serum creatinine (Cr) urea nitrogen (BUN) concentrations, specimens obtained histopathologic examination (with light microscope) expression cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) tissues (by immunohistochemistry). Results Compared Cr BUN concentrations significantly increased, COX-2 MMP-2 up-regulated at reperfusion LA groups.Compared I/R, decreased, down-regulated changes reduced LA. Conclusion Lappaconitine can attenuate through inhibiting rats. Key words: ACONITUM ALKALOIDS; Kidney; Reperfusion
