We investigated classification and treatment efficacy leukokeratosis cords. Methods conducted retrospective analysis medical history, laryngoscopic examinations, morphological features under surgical microscope, pathology results 360 cases to examine correlations among modalities, therapeutic effects, features. Results All were divided into four types based on symptoms, examination results, efficacies as follows: 21 patients had type I inflammatory leukoplakia their morphology voice quality recovered after conservative therapies; 76 II frictional polyps received CO 2 laser submucosal cordectomy; 68 III sulcus vocalis mucosal slicing with dredging; 195 IV simple partial subligamental cordectomy lasers or transmuscular cordectomy. Our achieved cure rate 90.9% (308/339), recurrence 9.1% (31/339) malignant transformation 6.5% (22/339). cancerous transformations occurred in patients. Conclusion Choosing surgery characteristics epithelial keratinized mucosa can maximally protect quality, reduce complications, improve rate.
