Retrospective analysis of nutritional status of 68 patients with malignant tumors before primary radiotherapy

Objective To retrospectively analyze the nutritional status of patients with malignant tumors prior to primary radiotherapy, aiming provide clinical evidence for rational application support during radiotherapy.

Methods The 68 admitted our department from August 2016 May 2017 was investigated. All received The Nutrition Risk Screening 2002 utilized assess nutrition risk. body mass index (BMI), hemoglobin, total protein, albumin, pre-albumin and C-reactive protein levels were detected statistically analyzed.

Results The incidence risk radiotherapy 6%, malnutrition 5.9%.All presenting diagnosed head neck gynecological tumors. Twenty-four had elevated 16 decreased 17 developed prealbumin, 1 a decline in level albumin 5 presented decrease protein. parameters evaluated between who had/had not chemotherapy before BMI, hemoglobin prealbumin significantly differed two groups (all P<0.01), whereas remaining did differ. underwent surgery P<0.01).

Conclusions Analysis receiving demonstrates that neck, are more likely suffer compared those other types Compared have chemotherapy/surgery worse status. Besides, significant changes observed than protein.
