ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of small incision and manual nuclear chopping combined with extracapsular cataract extraction intraocular lens implantation. Methoda 650 patients (725 eyes) who had undergone extracapsu- lar implantation were observed. During surgery, nucleus was separated by water via incisions lifted infusion loop, then chopped an irisrepositor; extracted implanted . The situation, postoperative visual acuity complications Results corrected acuity=0.5 in 630 eyes (86.90%) two days after slight corneal edema 53 (7.31 %). difference average astigmatism 0.50D to 0.75D. Conclusions Small doesn' t need special instrument is simple. This procedure can reduce astigmatism, comeal edema, other complications! shorten period rehabilitation; have same as that phacoemulsiflcation. Key words: Cataract;  Manual chopping;  Intraocular
