Study of the Users Satisfaction with Natural Lighting and Ventilation in State Library Gombe, Nigeria

ABSTRACT
Natural lighting and ventilation is desired in public libraries for efficient lighting, human comfort structural cooling. The study revealed that Gombe could not function efficiently without artificial source of which economically a disadvantage, unreliable has sustainability problems. However natural when harnessed more reliable consume less energy compared with other ventilation. This research focuses on the evaluation application library state view to solve poor level ventilation, conducted through observation schedule variables such as structure survey questioners present library. Seven categories users were selected based composition use extracted four components satisfaction. reveals are satisfied current condition add others facilities would make building effective. also shows only 45% often week, 90% identified necessity library, 10% was rated effectiveness facilities. recommends professional built environment approach projects holistically psychology attaining functionality aesthetics consider perception towards utilization. Nigerian requires better design attract cooling comfort, reduce consumption, attractive users.
