High-power, high-energy Ho:YAG oscillator pumped by a Tm-doped fiber laser

ABSTRACT
A high-power, high-energy Ho:YAG oscillator resonantly pumped by a Tm-doped fiber laser is presented. maximum continuous output power of 38 W with slope efficiency 51.9% achieved at the wavelength 2.09 μm, and M2≈1.48. In Q-switching regime, pulse energy 12.8 mJ, corresponding to 514.5 kW peak power, obtained repetition frequency 1 kHz. Furthermore, thermal lens effect system studied theoretically, radius transverse electromagnetic (TEM00) mode crystal under different pump powers given.
