ABSTRACT
In this study, gelatin films were prepared by dissolving in distilled water with mechanical stirring, followed casting the solution into films. The biodegradability of these was confirmed through soil burial tests, and their rapid dissolution evident, a measured solubility 29±1.6%. structural integrity thermal stability characterized using UV FTIR. exhibited significant UV-visible light absorbance, peak at 300 nm within 280 to 480 range. FTIR spectra revealed characteristic amide peaks gelatin, indicating presence key functional groups. This research also highlighted films' ability adsorb copper ions from acidic solutions, as demonstrated iodometric titration, treat hard complexometric titrations. These findings illustrate potential effective adsorbents for hardness, making them promising candidates environmental remediation wastewater treatment. study highlights critical limitation films, restricting functionality aqueous humid environments. Addressing challenge could significantly enhance expand applications treatment technologies.
