ABSTRACT
Interferon alpha is a molecule frequently used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B, C, and D, with immunomodulatory antiviral activity. It also some cancer types. has been widely claimed that interferon triggers autoimmunity, its broad adverse effect profile. Here we present case 29-year-old male patient B diagnosis who developed type 1 diabetes mellitus autoimmune thyroiditis during alfa-2b. Within four months initiation alfa-2b, presented to our clinic dry mouth, urinary frequency (8 10 times per day), drinking plenty water, night time urination, tiredness. He was admitted when his fasting blood glucose level detected be high. After examinations, diagnosed began receive insulin propranolol. Fasting levels were controlled thyroid hormones decreased normal within one month after treatments began. For patients will alpha, especially those individuals hepatitis, pancreatic autoantibodies should checked close monitoring performed as there may tolerance impairment high titers. In addition, follow-up function tests prior treatment.
