ABSTRACT
Taenia saginata infestation is one of the most common cestode infestations in humans, that may cause gastrointestinal tract related complications as a result obstruction, perforation or anastomotic leakage. A 55-year-old male patient who was receiving palliative chemotherapy for stage IV gastric cancer admitted to emergency department abdominal pain. hollow viscus organ diagnosed and an surgery performed. On postoperative day 5, patient’s midline incision eviscerated moving taenia emerged, with abundant particulated fluid from line. The due suspected bowel perforation. During exploration, relaxed purse stitch feeding tube observed no other perforations were seen. underwent two planned cavity lavage after removal cestode.
