ABSTRACT
This survey describes the evolution in vivo of Coenurus cerebralis small ruminants. At presentation, neurological signs and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) features were suggestive multifocal or diffuse inflammatory reaction. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) captured transition between invasive quiescent phase infection, revealing concurrent presence meningitis cysts. During phase, all animals, symptoms disappeared, was unremarkable while cysts grew progressively. Subsequently, onset coincided with MRI localized increase intracranial pressure, as confirmed by direct pressure measuring. All animals had an excellent post-surgical recovery. is first report describing coenurosis vivo. Sequential allowed interesting such death some coenuri different parasite growth rate same host.
