ABSTRACT
The distribution of ichthyoplankton assemblages (summer 1999 and winter 2000) from the southern region California Current (CC) off Baja Peninsula were analyzed.Latitudinal ocean-coast limits associated with geostrophic flow, which showed presence cyclonic anticyclonic eddies in northern central Peninsula. The comparative analysis abundance developmental stages (egg to preflexion, flexion, postflexion larval stages), that each mesoscale eddy had a specific assemblage, ichthyogeographic regionalization study area was determined by fronts.Retention processes observed on epipelagic demersal species where fish larvae maintained near coastal region.
