ABSTRACT
The concept of paraneoplastic syndromes encompasses a spectrum indirect clinical manifestations caused by secretion bioactive products malignant cells. Paraneoplastic glomerulopathy represent distinct entity where nephrotic syndrome can arise as manifestation underlying malignancies, particularly solid tumors. Membranous nephropathy is notably associated with such highlighting the intricate relationship between and cancer. present study reports case 44-year-old Caucasian male, smoker (22 pack-years) chronic ethanol consumer who presented in Emergency County Hospital Craiova March 2018 abdominal distension, genital leg edema no prior medical history. Laboratory tests revealed inflammatory (erythrocyte sedimentation rate=110 mm/h, fibrinogen, 150 mg/dl, high levels C reactive protein=6.87 mg/dl), well hypoproteinemia (total protein levels=3.90 g/l), hypertriglyceridemia=213 hypercholesterolemia=475 total urinary excretion 12,500 mg/24 h normal urea (38 mg/dl) creatinine (0.90 mg/dl). After meeting diagnostic criteria for (edema, proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, hyperlipidemia, it was investigated whether primary or secondary origin. Notably, an unexplained conjunction elevated tumor marker (carbohydrate antigen 19-9, 82.47 U/ml; Carcinoembryonic antigen-CEA=9.46 ng/ml) prompted thorough imagistic investigation, using computer tomography. A polyp discovered during colonoscopy, prompting biopsy. presence adenocarcinoma confirmed histopathological analysis. only colonic malignancy symptomatic presentation syndrome, which led to early detection connects kidney disease systemic cancer, showing that renal symptoms may aid diagnosing hidden malignancies. Nephrotic especially membranous nephropathy, various demonstrated though rare, lead cancer detection. Ongoing research essential improving understanding, targeted therapy patient management.
