ABSTRACT
Clear cell renal carcinoma (ccRCC) is a primary pathological subtype of RCC and has poor clinical outcome. Krüppel‑like factors (KLFs), which are zinc‑finger proteins, may be involved in ccRCC development progression. KLFs belong to the family DNA‑binding transcription regulate downstream target genes. cancer development. The present study aimed investigate role prognosis. Cancer Genome Atlas database multifactorial analysis showed that were widely expressed pan‑cancers KLF2 was an independent protective factor for Patients with low expression had survival probability downregulated patients high grade (II + III vs. I). In addition, western blot reverse transcription‑quantitative PCR revealed at levels lines overexpression inhibited migration. negatively correlated methylation. elevated following treatment cells DNA methyltransferase inhibitor. A prognostic risk index prediction model constructed based on multiple Cox regression. receiver operating characteristic curve 0.780 (area under >0.5). Furthermore, Gene Ontology enrichment 'cell adhesion' 'junction' high‑risk group exhibited significantly activated 'epithelial‑mesenchymal transition'. Western increased E‑cadherin, while decreasing N‑cadherin vimentin. highlighted prognosis provides research base search validated biological markers ccRCC.
