Myasthenia gravis as initial presentation of a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor: A case report

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease, which characterized by postsynaptic neuromuscular transmission defect, with antibodies directly targeting the acetylcholine receptor (AChR) or other structural proteins of junction. The majority MG cases are associated thymic pathologies, including thymoma, thyroiditis, diseases malignant hematologic neoplasia. present study reported rare case AChR‑positive and late‑onset ocular MG, rapidly progressed to generalized myasthenic syndrome as an initial presentation pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasia (pNEN). Following complete surgical resection pNEN, was improved anti‑AChR antibody titers were reduced. It has been that paraneoplastic in neoplasms less common malignancies. However, currently, only few solid tumor, more particular neoplasm, have literature. In conclusion, surveillance for extrathymic malignancies newly diagnosed patients could promote early diagnosis tumor diseases.
